Choosing The Right Dental Implant Dentist
The most important thing to remember when choosing a dentist is to choose one who has the capabilities and skill set to not only place the implant(s) but will also design and make the final crowns, bridge, or dentures. Some implant cases do not have great results because not enough careful and personalized planning was done. This is what makes Dr. Cai unique from others in that he possesses all of these skills and sees you through the entire process from start to finish. Dr Cai and his team of professionals provide personalized planning to fit your individual needs. Contact our Safety Harbor office today to schedule your initial consultation.
Dental implants can provide a wonderful long term solution and has many benefits such as:
Overall appearance. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. And because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.
Correct speech. With ill-fitting dentures, teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak clearly without the worry that teeth might slip.
Comfort. Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort, or “rocking,” of removable dentures.
Hassle free eating. Dentures can make chewing difficult. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods comfortably.
Confidence. Dental implants can give you back a confident smile and help you feel better about yourself.
Better oral health. Dental implants don't require reducing other teeth, as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health. Individual implants also allow easier access between teeth, improving your overall oral hygiene.
Stability and Durability. Dental implants are very durable and will last many years. Proper care will ensure many implants to have the potential to last a lifetime.
Convenience. Removable dentures are REMOVABLE. Dental implants will eliminate the inconvenience of removing the dentures, as well as a need for adhesives to keep them in place.
What is the dental implant consultation like and how long?
Upon arriving you are warmly greeted by our dental team and Dr Cai. Your dental implant consultation usually takes about 1 hour. In that time, we will gather preliminary information, films, and photos in order to construct a treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to your needs and goals. We will also obtain a 3 dimensional image using a cone beam CT which will provide all the final information needed to virtually perform the procedure prior to your appointment of placing the dental implants. This enables the procedure to be efficient and precise.
Treatment times and visits will vary based on your needs. This may range from 4-12 months, and visits during this time may range from 3-8 visits.
What can I expect once my dental implant treatment is completed?
Once your dental implant treatment is completed, it is important that you see us twice a year in which our hygienist will clean the implant body and provide instruction on home care for proper daily cleansing of your dental implant(s).During this appointment, Dr Cai will also exam all aspects of the dental implant system(s) including occlusion and stability. This ensures the longevity of your implants, hopefully for life.
